United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

hope that applying that day would be the same pull?
I firmly believe that same day is enough for 1 pull.

Had no issue matching after mentioning the in-branch offer.
If they reject you just ask again so that it goes to a supervisor instead of the front-line folks.
Thank you, this worked for me after going back and forth 2-3 times, except they wont give me the $50 credit since they say it is not included in the 50,000 offer.

Can I just show the card to get free luggage or do I actually have to purchase the tickets with the united card?

Purchase, but sometimes you'll get lucky and get a nice agent who will waive the fee. Not commonly done though IMO.

When I had the card, I did it numerous times and was successful. They would try checking in their computer to see if I paid with the card and if I was the primary card holder (which I wasn't, but I told them I was) and after a few minutes of checking they couldn't find anything to disprove me, so they have me a free bag.

I never had an agent tell me that I didn't pay for the ticket with that card, when I didn't buy it with that card. I agree that it's weird that they couldn't see it.

I just cancelled my regular explorer card 2 weeks ago, would I get approved for this because "I want to separate my spending for selling on eBay"?

Tweet the basic issue with their username in the tweet, like @Chase I'm having a problem getting... And they will follow and ask you to direct message them more info. Direct messages can only be seen by them and not the rest of twitter but either way they never ask for your whole card number etc.
how long it take for chase to reply? i didn't get a respond so far

sort of.
The card gives you 2 one time passes.
So you can bring a guest with the second pass.
But no more lounge access till card renewal
Always use an Amex, you'll thank me one day.
