United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

How does the card work for luggage? I fI purchased 5 tickets do I get 5 free suitcases or technically its only 1 for the cardholder? Does that mean me and my wife (both primary) have to purchase a separate Itinerary for us both to get suitcases?

PUTPAC!

Me: Is it possible to get the AF waived. I am a good customer, used my card allot last year, and its expensive fee, bla bla
CS: Im sorry there is no way we can waive the fee
Me: Then I really don't need want this card and I m gonna cancel
CS: Ok sure, should we cancel that now?
Me: Im thinking about it
CS: ok just let me know, cause we can cancel it at any time.

OUCH!!!

So what are my options? I don't really need this card for its perks (free luggage or PQD) so should I cancel the card and ask them to move my credit limit to one of my other cards, or can I ask them to open another card and move the credit over to that one. I really don't want a pull now as I just opened last month like 5 cards!

I was targeted for the 50k offer, applied and got approved

Would the rules in the wiki apply to me?

If you applied for 50K, why would you need to SM to ask for a match from 30 to 50?

Without SM would Chase realize and I would  be denied the targeted offer because I had the offer within the past?

How long ago did you get the bonus the first time? Did you create a new ffn now?

If you used a new FFN, I would think all should be good.

Update:
After applying with a new FFN and then having it changed by Chase to my old one, followed by a long journey of attempting to close down my FFN that received the bonus in the past which I failed since my UE card was linked it that FFN and then opening up several FFN and calling Chase to add my "new" FFN ,followed by each one getting merged to my old FFN.....Until finally I decided to merge my old FFN to a new account.
Last night my statement closed and Chase confirmed that 30k UA are being transferred! :)

Well then you probably won't be getting the bonus this time.
