United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

Took me 5 days from approval.

Have only used United site a few times. How do you know when you have expanded availability.  Does it show account  linked with a card ?

Hover over mileage expiration date. If it says 18 months it's not linked. If it thanks you for being a card member it is.

I opened a new Card with new FF #- about 8 months since closing old card (20 months since receiving original bonus), completed 2K spend 10 days before billing cycle close, and didn't receive bonus points.
How do I know if it is because of a churn issue?
FYI, I did receive the 5k AU bonus, would I not receive that either if they had caught the churn?

What did you change in your new FFN? It's not enough to just create a new one, you need to change the info on your account as well.

+1 I always change address , email, telephone number etc and when I called to merge 2 accounts , they still knew I had a second account, but did not give me a problem merging it .

I did a full change of e-mail/address etc.
The new FF account is showing the 7000 points (5k AU + 2K spend), does that mean the 50k should be on its way?

Did the $2k post 10 days before statement, or you only spent it 10 days before statement?

Posted.
Statement closed on 7/21 and final purchase actually made on 7/7.
Either way it should have been enough time, I would think.
My question also is, if the fact that I got The 5K AU bonus show that its being looked at as a new account which would allow the 50K to come thru?

Sometimes if too close to closing will not
post . Call and ask Chase if they see it
pending on their side .

When changing address do you just add apt? Or actual new location?

So what do you do about getting the mail?
If family/friends aren't an option?

Actually friends and family, but only use address for FF # not application . Change it during app if populated  .

If app for card has this address after entering FF #
IIRC you will have to change it to mailing address

You have to manually change it in the app? I'm assuming that's what you mean.

Yes. In the credit card app , if you see the new address populated change it before
you submit . The same if you have to recon!
