United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

I don't think the United explorer master card is available, so apply for the visa with a new mileage number. how often to apply im not sure.
Just to be sure i got you, I have the MPE Mastercard (originally a CO OPP) and and i want to, should i leave it open and apply for a new MPE Visa since they are not the same?
if yes for the FFN should i put the same, leave it blank, or make a new one and put it in?

i received the explorer and sm them and got 55k.  i spent 1k dollars on the card already.  i see united is giving out in the "earn up to 65k" link if you spent 1k dollars you receive 50k miles.  is there any thing i can do to receive more miles for spending 1k within 3 months? or since i already got the 55k miles i cant get anything else?
if anyone understands what im talking about and has tried it pls let me know

To receive more miles? Because you spent the 1K within 3 months? I doubt it.

When churning this card, you create a new United FF # and enter that each time you apply right?

Can I get approved for a United card if I already have one? If not, should I call to cancel my existing one, shift the CL over to another card, and then apply for a new one? I'd appreciate a quick response, I have an AOR waiting on this.

I believe you can but if it were me I'd transfer over the Credit line to a different Chase card, close the United and then apply.

Thanks. CMIIW, a card can be closed via SM, but a CL can not be shifted via SM.

Wrong. I just asked to move over my CL on two cards and close them down. No problem. Took less than an hour. Just be specific that you want to move your credit line over, not just your credit. Sometimes they misunderstand and reply " you have no balance yada yada".

It should work no problem.
