United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

Is it not worth it that much to not include it in a 3bm?

The spend req on the Ink Plus is 10k in 3 months, between that and Sapphire I'll have my hands full trying to meet it.

Guess it's Sapphire + Ink Plus instead for me
IME, personal cc + business cc = 2 pulls

I have my EX frozen and having them pull EQ or TU which have 0 inqs and 3 inqs respectively, so 2 pulls wouldn't bother me much.

Not sure. But you can open a new account and transfer in 1,000 points and the 55,000 point offer should appear. Just in case you're interested.

Does this still apply?

I just opened my account, and the 30k offer showed up. If I transfer some miles in from my Sapphire account, is that the way to bring up the 55k offer?

No it's gone. Unless you're one of the lucky targeted ones.

FWIW, I got the 50k bonus this week (+ another 5k for adding a AU) as well as the $50 statement credit (which they actually issued twice). It took a lot of back and forth with SM, and I provided a screenshot that I got off DDF.

I kept insisting that others got it after their first spend.

They were responding that it is no longer active, and that they can't do. I just kept assuming that they didn't understand my request and asked again. Eventually it was "referred" to somebody else who came through.

does this mean i lost the 30k sign up as well? is it worth trying to send another message? try the HUCA method over the phone? any advice?
i got this reply:
We?re writing in response to your recent question about
your United MileagePlus® credit card account.

We reviewed your account and see you recently opened a new
United MileagePlus credit card account, which offers bonus
miles after your first purchase using the new card.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to receive the bonus
miles since you received a similar offer in the past. Here
is additional information to help explain the enrollment
bonus:

?The terms and conditions associated with the credit card
indicate that the one-time offer is only for first-time
United MileagePlus cardmembers with a new account.
?Since you received 50,000 bonus miles in April 2012 on
your previous account ending in 7692, you are not
considered a first time cardmember.
?Based on this information, this new account is not able
to receive the enrollment bonus miles.

If you have any questions, please call us at the number on
the back of your card. We?re here to assist you anytime.

Thank you for being our customer. We appreciate your
business.

Arid if you didn't apply with a new FFN then you're SOL.

If you applied with a new FFN, then you'll probably get the 30k automatically despite what the rep said.

A friend of mine mentioned that you could go into a Chase branch and they have the offer for 50k + 5k for adding an AU. I think there is a real spend for the points

All links are now dead for this looks like :(

New offer is 30k after 1k spend and 5k after adding AU

The 65k offer doesn't even show up anymore in peoples mileage plus accounts that have miles in them.

This is still alive. Here are the steps.
1. Open a new mileage plus account.
2. Transfer 1000 miles from UR account.
3. Login to your new mileage plus account.
4. You may not see 65k link. You may still see only 30k link.
5. You press following link now, while you are logged in to your new account.
http://www.unitedexplorercard.com/premier

I did it. It opened new browser with all familiar 65k link. It worked for me. If you do steps not mentioned above, it may not open the same link.

Good luck !!!

You friends with compddd?  ;)
The UA 55k offer is now available only if you go into a Chase branch and apply in person.

Should work even with skipping steps 3 and 4. Did for me. Also step 2 could be would very well work with getting miles into the account through other means
