United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

Chase very adeptly managed to not credit me for a UA card. 3 billing cycles came and went with nary a sign of a single bonus point. I had to have the points manually added by a sympathetic CSR. If they say they aren't going to be crediting the points, they are fully capable of doing just that. Agree or disagree about being in the same boat, they CAN and WILL not credit points if they find that you already got the bonus before.

You did it wrong, period.  You're reading into things past that point that are totally irrelevant and drawing mistaken conclusions.

Hey Dan
A little punctuation would help. Did you mean irrelevant instead of irreverent ?

Which point are you -100?
I removed my previous post, I was on WAP so wasn't in the mood of explaining everythin.

Technically you are right. However once i or Red got a SM stating that we won't  be getting points due to previously getting the bonus we are in the same boat IMO. Which is why I sort of -1'd,
You had an automatic override, and Red has a manual SM    :P

they can obviously override the automatic crediting of points.
Everything is possible, but its not that simple. See Chase' responses for double dips, they could've just add the points manually and override automatic point credit.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

Dear Red,

We?re writing in response to your recent question about
your United MileagePlus® credit card account.

We reviewed your account and see you recently opened a new
United MileagePlus credit card account, which offers bonus
miles after your first purchase using the new card.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to receive the bonus
miles since you received a similar offer in the past. Here
is additional information to help explain the enrollment
bonus:

?The terms and conditions associated with the credit card
indicate that the one-time offer is only for first-time
United MileagePlus cardmembers with a new account.
?Since you received 50,000 in **** 2012 on your
previous account ending in ****, you are not considered a
first time cardmember.
?Based on this information, this new account is not able
to receive the enrollment bonus miles.

Thank you for being our customer. We appreciate your
business.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Thank you,
:'( And yes I did create a new FF# that was not combined with an old one.

You may laugh, but I figured out where I messed up. I make a pledge to a local tzedaka organization every time I do an AOR, and I completely forgot about it this time and didn't pay it off.

It seems UA is picking up. Anyone recently get a second bonus with a new UA FFN?
