United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

should we wait for 30K to post and then write the SM or write it as soon as card is approved?
First card after you see balance.
Second card and on wait.
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

United has a special through 3/13. Earn 12 points per $1 on Under Armour. Highest I ever saw it was 10 Points per $1 on the Ultimate Rewards Portal. If you like Under Armour I would say now is the time to buy.

I personally am a big Under armour fan and their cloths are amazing during the summer.

How long will 50,000 bonus points be posted on your account after you spend $1000? I completed 1000$ before my first statement was closed. However, I dont see my 50,000 bonus points in my account.

need some advice...

1)I had a united explorer Visa and united explorer MC (previously a continental Onepass) so I moved the credit line from visa to MC, and dropped the visa (which avoided the upcoming $95 fee). I applied for another United card and plan on getting accepted by saying i need a VISA as well for spending. But i put in my milage plus number by accident, will i be able to get the bonus a 2nd time?

2) how can i get my application ID number so that i can call right away, without waiting for their reply by mail?

1)Probably not since you already had that card. In order to get the bonus for the 2nd time you need to put in a new FFN.

2)Just call and give them your SSN. They could look it up by that.

why? i sm'd them to be matched to the 55k and they replied that they will match it and that the points will post on the next billing cycle, so i replied saying that i needed them for an award...and they answered yes and put them in my ff account that day.

I think we all feel --Nice when you ask a question you get a quick answer ,

why do we need to go through the chase SM (post office) and waited till the "real" service rep gets to decide --most of the things we ask-- is not rocket science-- pretty basic questions -- do not get me wrong --Chase is still number 1

Got the card as part of a 2bm for my wife.  They gave her the visa version....has this happened to anyone else?  Should I ask them to switch to WMC?

Visa is standard. No reason to switch.
