United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

Send SM whenever you want. I recently did my first united biz card and SMmd right away. Got the $50 instantly and the 50k at my first statement.
oon my first biz i sent an sm right away.  they replied that when i spend 1k and the 30,000 post then i should call the number on the back of my card.  i did and they said they would take care of it but i think it didn't work so I called back and it finally posted when the next statement closed.

Same thing happened to me. I asked them to expedite the 50k but that was a no go. Happy with the 50k though

Just to be clear, i sent the SM after i did the spending. What i meant by right away, was that i didnt wait for the first 30k to post, and got 50k with my first statement. Conversely, if you're churning the card, some report that sending the SM before receiving the first 30k causes them to look into your app and they sometimes realize that you already had the card, and you walk with nothing.

I signed up for my first UME Card under the business. Got Status Matched to 50K + they gave me an extra 20K!

If I sign up for a personal card, do I need to use a new FFN? It would be my first personal card.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

No.  Can use same as biz one.
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

not sure what he meant about the extra 20k.
@saver2k are we disagreeing on anything? Itsyehuda said he got the card "under the business", so I wrote that biz gets 50k to clarify why he wrote 50, and not 55

"Itsyehuda" posted that he got 50+20k .

The regular match is as you posted - 30k+20=50k.

But in itstehudas's case, he got 30k+20k+20k.

I think the 55 is after adding a second card, I didn't get those yet

But yes, I got 70K

You confused.
Only the personal card offers an additional 5k for adding an AU.

You got 70k on what basis?
