Photo Book Publishing
« on: March 06, 2012, 09:32:23 PM »
I assume most people here use Snapfish or Shutterfly for their photo books.
I generally stick to Shutterfly but every once in a while like to print some nicer photo books.

I've tried My Publisher, MyCanvas and Blurb.

I really enjoy Blurb the most mostly because of their software.

I'm wondering 2 things.
Does anyone have any experience with any OTHER photo publishing sites?

Where are the best places to get coupons/gift cards for any of the above mentioned sites?

I've managed to snag a few Blurb coupons here and there but they are hard to come by. Any advice would be great!

i have used mypublisher. they make you download a program to make the album, then you upload it.
if you enter a new email address they give you a coupon and it ends up being free. just cost $5 for shipping.
i haven't done it in a while, so i dont know if the coupon is still available

Well so far I've tried snapfish, shutterfly, my publisher, printerpix and MIXBOOK...
And me (and couple of couples who I recommended them too..) came out that the best so far is MIXBOOK! I realy liked their layouts and needed the liest work done to have a beautiful book.
(Had one small problem with one of the features but can't recall what it was.. I think it was the auto save didn't always save my changes..) I found the Prog to be mostly easier and better then other ones.. And was very clear!
Printerpix only has leather for hard cover..
My publisher didn't come out very clear for us..
And shutterfly needed too much work!

Adobe Lightroom is the best software for creating photo books.

We use picaboo.com, offline based, very good print, and they bound the book so its durable (our snapfish book came apart very fast)

I've used Mixbook in the past and the quality is very good.  The software is easy to use and includes some nice features.  Their customer service is great.  One time the edges of the page had a thin white border.  It was due to the size I ordered and how I set up the pictures.  They told me to adjust the pictures (enlarge them that the edges are off the page) and they reprinted for free + free overnight shipping.  I am very happy with the photo quality and binding.  Plus, they have great promos many times during the year- up to 40% off.

I would like to create a book and order about 40 copies.  Does anyone have experience with this?  The only publisher I have any experience with is Shutterfly, and they have a "yearbook" bulk option.  Is any familiar with this or other options?

I ended up ordering 100 copies of a book I created on Shutterfly.  Mostly positive experience, not perfect.
