I reserved an award flight with KA and was planning on transferring UR points from Business Chase. Problem is that Chase will not allow me to be added as 4th member for point transfer (three other employees are already added) even though I have a card in my name. Any idea on how to get 80K KA miles into my account? any other ideas?

My understanding is that Korean allows two stopovers on a partner award (one on each leg), and that Korean considers HI to be part of North America for award bookings. Korean Air charges 45,000 miles for a R/T first class ticket within North America.

Would it therefor be possible to fly, first class, the following route on United for 45,000 miles:
NYC- LAX (stop-over)-HON

HON- NYC (stop-over)- MIA (or any other North American city)

Thanks!

On a skyteam award you get one stopover only.

United is a Korean partner?

Korean and United are not partners.

Can an award account holder book tickets for someone else? Or do they need to be a part of the traveling party?

They can book for others as long as they are in the Family Plan

And they require proof of relationship, correct?

Can UR points be transferred to a Skypass account with a different name? (ie: Joe Shmoe's UR points to Jane Doe's Skypass)?

And if anyone happens to know, is it risky to transfer UR points between UR accounts of unrelated people?

Thanks!

I believe with the tightening of the UR rules, you are only able to transfer UR points to either yourself or an AU's account. You are only able to book for yourself, or someone in your family (which requires proof).

Does the open-jaw on an awards booking need to be at the destination or can it be at the origin?

I'm pretty sure it's only at the destination, but don't take my word for it  :P

They allow stopovers on one ways so what do you need the roundtrip for?

I'm thinking of booking a domestic ticket on Delta, and I would like to get a "free" one way ticket by combining a stop-over and open-jaw on the return. AFAIK, at least on Delta, Korean does not allow one-way award bookings.

Regarding KSML requests on a held reservation, does anyone know if the request only goes through once I ticket? I have a reservation on hold with the KSML requests in, but I probably won't ticket it until within 24 hours of the flight.
