The rates seem to be cheaper than a regular award, and it’s valid for paid and award bookings. Does this mean if I’m booking 2 mileage tickets I can book one with points and the other as a “companion” for a lower price? Am I missing something here?

Super interesting. Presumably only works on VS flight numbers, does it work on virgin codeshares operated by another carrier? (I’m assuming that exists). Do they charge YQ on these redemptions?

I have summer tickets booked on VS (MCO-LHR-TLV, wide open summer availability!).

FYI, (as I was not aware of this before), Virgin Atlantic policy for cancellations matches BA's.

While the official fee is $50 to cancel an award, that is only if the taxes on the award are $50+. If the taxes are less, you would just lose the taxes paid on the ticket, there is no further fee. So if you booked a Delta One for 50K from USA to Europe and paid $5.60, you would only lose the $5.60 if you cancel that award.

Is there any way to book a multi city ticket with Virgin Atlantic points?
I want a TLV-IAD flight with a longer stopover in LHR then what they are offering. If I book it as 2 separate trips there is a much higher YQ.

Sure, on the the booking page there's is an option for multi city, (click on "Round trip" for a drop down and select multi city)

UK APD kicks in after 24 hours, so it'll cost you more regardless.

Virgin Flying Club has now followed suit
Virgin Atlantic is now allowing you to transfer Virgin Points from one member to another.

You can do this in two ways

via the Virgin Red app
via the Virgin Atlantic website here
The fee is a flat £10.
