I am staying at the WA Jerusalem next week. I received an email from my concierge, and I responded with a few small requests, including a rollaway bed for my daughter. The concierge responded that "In addition, extra bed will be placed in the room and it comes at the cost of $110 to include the 3rd person and breakfast".

I am assuming they mean 110 per night, I'm going to confirm with the hotel. Has anyone else had experience with a third person staying in the room and additional charges for it? I stayed here 2 years ago, and there was no such additional charge.

Any advice appreciated, thanks!

Mike

I stayed on points last year and had no such additional charge for a rollaway AND a crib.  Planning on doing that again later this year and would be pretty disappointed if that's the new policy.

Maybe the charge is for the breakfast not for the bed.

on points?

Yes, I'm staying 4 nights wed- sun, and using 160k points for 2 nights and then 2 citi reserve certificates for the weekend nights. i think it may have something to do with it being the high season, I'll update the board after I stay there about getting the fee waived.

I would agree with the poster above who thinks you're being charged for breakfast. Their website only mentions charging for rollaways on Sukkos

I've seen a note during the reservations process saying that the normal family policy doesn't apply during peak times: Sukkot, Pesach and I think they also gave dates in August.

That's referring to second room at 50%

It also referenced additional charges for extra people in the room.

As long as there's a standard room available you can book it for 80k points. If there's nothing available for that point level you can just hope someone cancels a standard room reservation (paid or award) for that date. Keep checking. What date are you looking at?

i have had luck with hyatt when I already had one night booked getting them to open up more availability. you may be able to do something similar by calling and explaining the situation. (even though the base room isn't available)

I can't imagine I actually will put up that cholent. But I would need to have hot food at the main meal as כל שאינו אוכל חמים בשבת... so I'm just trying to brainstorm here. In the end I think I'll probably just do the long hot walk
his user name is cholent so i guess it was a fair guess he will have one in the room....

This video is a couple of months old but it shows a lot of stuff at the hotel and I thought people might like it.  It made me so nostalgic for our last stay and the food and I can't wait to go back next year...

There's actually another video on YouTube, a tour of the hotel with Mrs Esther reichman that I found very entertaining though perhaps not in the way it was meant to be
