i dont understand this so much. aren't you pricing in the points earned into the cost of the overall expense.

to simplify. if waldorf costs $2000 for the party and doing it in a shul costs $1000 you better be getting $1000 worth of points(subjective to how you value them of course) from the waldorf for doing it there.

Because of a bunch of factors, it's gonna be the same cost in Denver so I'd much rather go to Israel and have the simcha there.  The hotels prices seem to be very similar among high end Israeli hotels for Shabbos meals, so I was more thinking that people would be more likely to choose the WA instead of other hotels.  As far just a place to stay, if you take away points I'd much rather stay somewhere else that had an awesome pool for kids and great views.

Hashgacha is the big draw.

People do perceive it as better but I wonder if that would change if it wasn't these well known owners.

Was there last night at the dairy restaurant, wasn't impressed at all!

Some dishes weren't  edible

Not bookable online or OTAs

It's blocked, I'm assuming for group sales and will open up closer in.  When they do open it may be with a per night minimum so make sure to check different length of stays.

We ate Friday night at a relative - went before Shabbos and walked back after the meal, about 45 minutes, not too bad
For Shabbos day we bought food and requested a mini-fridge and ate in our room

A few Rabbanim (Rabbi Baum is the one the one I spoke with personally) are okay with the Kashrus standards at the Leonardo Plaza (I think he mentioned its because the Rav Hamachshir at the hotel is trustworthy, even though the Aguda and Rabbanut Mehadrin are Hashgachos he dosent usually recommend) .

Food is really good, and plentiful. And probably roughly the same price as the WAJ.
