Have you seen it recently? It will definitely open in 2013
In Israel they first build the outside and then it can take another year (at least) to fishish the rest...

How long in advance of the official opening date do they begin taking reservations for the hotel?

I say we take bets. See who comes closest to the actual opening date. I'm going to guess November 2013.

How about betting whether they will find away to not accept points, Like not calling any rooms "standard" so that all the rooms will be 300K points!!!

I won't be surprised if they have a single room in the standard category.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Is that standard among WA hotels, to only have a single room?

Even if they do that can't we just there with the free nights from the Hilton reserve card?

Still requires a standard room. Weekend nights only, BTW.

Can't wait for it to open, will be the only decent hotel in Jerusalem (aside from Mamilla but thats without using points) The former Sheraton aka Plaza is pretty gross for what you pay

I actually stayed there once and was pretty disappointed. The room was not cheap by any means, carpet was dirty and room was tiny! The suites are nice but a basic room is pretty sad for what you pay. IMHO
