Anyone know of any shul's close by (i.e. short walk) to the Waldorf with a Shachris minyan around 8 or later during the week?
The Kotel?

what do the more established names say? (ex. r' zaritsky or even r' baum)
Don't know rabbi zaretzky but I believe rabbi Baum said it's good but for me that's a reason not to eat there....

Are they still accepting the free weekend night certificates?

Why wouldn't they?

Fyi, Great Synagogue has shachris at 8 and is about a 7 minute walk so that was closest option.

Yep, I used to daven there all the time.
Fastest minyan in town!

I would estimate it to be closer to a 3-4 minute walk though.

Hi Forum;
I was a guest at the jerusalem waldorf astoria, gifted to me by my son using vouchers and points.  I thought the place was amazing.  I was speaking to someone that suggested the following and I would like to know if it's doable;  transer spg points to amex at a greater exchange rate than 1;1.  transer amex points to hilton honors againt at a greater exchange rate.  anyone know exactly how this is done and at what exchange rate from one to the next?  thanks

Nice idea but SPG points do not transfer to Amex MR.

Amex often has offers offers where you can transfer 1:2 to Hilton rather than the normal 1:1.5.

ETA- You can transfer SPG-> Virgin Atlantic at 20k:25k.

You USED to be able to transfer Virgin Atlantic-> Hilton at 1:2.

This USED TO effectively transfer 20k SPG-> 50k Hilton.

However the transfer from Virgin Atlantic to Hilton was reduced to 1:1.5.

Using this method now will net you 20k SPG-> 37.5k Hilton.

This isnt a bad way to transfer between to competing hotel brands but I wouldnt advise using 42k+ SPG for one night in the Waldorf.

There are better ways.
