how?

Points. He's essentially selling you hilton points at .5-.55 cpp. Not a bad deal, but you can manufacture hilton points yourself for less.

My net rate is sometimes 295-350 at the Waldorf, But im not allowed to sell it for that rate, i have a minimum selling restriction. and it must be booked as part of a package. and its not booked with points.

Can you explain? How can they see for which rate you sold it?

of course, red card is free, though if that's all that they are worth, its not even worth wasting the spend on them.

they cant, but sometimes they will just ask the client by the checkin desk how much he paid, and if he answers an rate how much he paid for the hotel only, the next morning i'm locked out.

not correct, the answer must be, "it was a part of a package" "or we paid for the package".

You mean the reserve 3ppd?

yes and maybe the citi depending on how target is classified.

edit. the surpass and the citi reserve both give 3ppd.

the basic citi may or may not depending on how target is classified.

Did anyone stay with kids in the room?
Did they charge you extra?
They claim that for a child over 3 there is a $110 charge per night

I had 2 connecting rooms with 2 adults and 4 kids. 3 kids were over 3 years old.

Each was booked as a 2 person room.

Since our concierge took us up to the room at checkin, they obviously knew how many people were staying there.

A few hours later, there was a knock on the door bringing 4 glasses of chocolate milk and a tray of cookies for my kids.

And no. I wasn't charged extra.

They did mention something along the lines of $110 or so for any more than 4 (2 per room) people at breakfast.

I think so.

They also gave me a crib and a (regular-size bed) rollaway btw (no charge).

When you make the reservation, you won't be able to add more than 2 ppl/room though.

But read through this thread, and you'll find some experiences.
