My head is already spinning with all the info.

OU good or no good
If you trust OU worldwide why can't that be equally the same as eating here ?
If you eat in Israeli restaurants then why is this different ?
The mashgiach sounds reliable, or not ?
And finally is this all politics or not ?

חברה, מאכט'ס סדר please

The answer is you'll ask 3 people and get 10 different answers.
And unfortunately it's one of the reasons I find traveling in Israel to be a pain.

Also,
Some more
Clearly, why is Rabunnat Mehadrin being eqauted to plain Rabanut by some here ?
Is that an honest assessment ? Not sure about that.

When OU decides to start taking Chodosh in Israel more seriously they might be looked at a bit more seriously.

And unfortunately it's one of the reasons I find traveling in Israel to be a pain.
Are you serious?  Did you think that out before writing?
Jerusalem has more truly mehadrin restaurants per 5 square blocks then the entire Ohio! Also likely every town that you will want to visit will have a mutually acceptable restaurant. There are specific establishments that you are craving to eat in? People don't come to israel for the culinary experience, if that's the reason why you visit then you have some serious soul searching to do.
To put down your Israeli vacation due to not being able to sample what they say is the worlds best spicy lamb chili is simply ludicrous.

I was in Israel in 07, 09, and 10. I didn't go for food, I saw the sights I wanted to see.

I don't like the mass confusion over what is acceptable or not, it ruins the entire experience for me. No other place has this level of confusion. That and the pain that the rental car companies inflict make it a place that I don't feel like returning to every year.

Call me a bad Jew if that makes you happier.

Put it like this, how crazy is it that when I go to Kauai I can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel club or restaurant without any worry, but in the nicest hotel in Jerusalem there are 1,000 opinions on what I can or can't partake in.
