My family likes to joke that Israel is the only country you could starve in.

Eggs are about the only thing you can buy anywhere. Or fish if you're catching them yourself.

Put it like this, how crazy is it that when I go to Kauai I can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel club or restaurant without any worry, but in the nicest hotel in Jerusalem there are 1,000 opinions on what I can or can't partake in.

Chodosh in Israel is a problem according to everyone IINM.
True. But Israel and Europe have mostly winter wheat and barley production and therefor it shouldn't be a problem. IINM.

1. Have YOU spoken with Rabbi Kuber??
2. At least one of the Mashgichim there is his "Talmid" and is very reliable.
3/4. Both Rabbi Tzvi Bringer and Rabbi Muller from Neve Yaakov have said that you can eat there given that you have checked with the Mashgiach beforehand that no such event is going on while you are there and if there was that they Kashered the kitchen.

Let's see what the KFI comes up with...
I personally spoke with Rabbi Kuber. He told me that after going through the entire kitchen from top to bottom, there are certain shortcomings, therefore unfortunately he cannot recommend it! He did tell me the afternoon Mashgiach is a very choshuv person and a talmid of his, but "he is not on the menu". meaning that the problems still exist. He did not specify what the problems are.

Big help maybe he should specify the problems??
Don't know who rabbi kuber is maybe his idea of issues is the length of the cooks skirt?

Rabbi Kuber was very high up in the OU in israel. I have spoken to him on many occasions about kashrus and he is very blunt and straightforward, though for various reasons he sometimes cannot say certain things or always be quoted. That is the nature of the beast and you cannot fault him for that. I would def, rely on him, however you have to ask the right questions to get the right answers...

But OU certifies a lot of products that are Chodosh (eg. CheeriosCookies 'N Cream) that end up in Israel every year.
That's one of the reasons why Israelis distrust OU.

Is it the product of EY or the person being in EY that matters?
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

It's made in chu"l, but even regular rabbanut here holds that chodosh of chutz laaretz is no good (unlike the OU).

Is there just plain OU meat in the US?
Truth is I'd eat at an OU restaurant in the US without finding out what meat they use.

And the OU claims that they have the same standards in israel.
I spoke to someone who knows the ou very well he said that although ou Israel has the same standards as ou America its much harder to put it in practice with Israelis

And for all those who think rabanut is treif I don't know who your Rabbis are but at least according to Rabbi Berkovitz it is most definitely kosher (not taking about shmitta)

To lay it out like it is, one of the heads of kashrus of OU WONT eat at any OU establishments except papagaoi
