I think the difference is that the superior rooms are on the side of the original Palace Hotel, near the staircase, the deluxe rooms are in the new part. The deluxe rooms don't have such high ceilings but are better designed imho.

I'm planning of staying a couple nights with 2 kids and a baby.
But for the first night I only have 1 room.
Could it work, will they make me any issues?
Will they charge me extra?

You should be fine and shouldn't have an extra charge.  Especially if you don't check in with all the kids around you ...

Heh, our Friday night service was awful, by far the lowlight.

Yup, I was very pleased at breakfast.
Being kept caffeinated and drunk though may have helped ;)

Next time, ask for Jesus a/k/a Jerry as your waiter.  Great service and especially helpful with the little kids.   Anyway, I'm sitting in the Inbal right now where the service all around couldn't be worse, so I'm just grateful for the Waldorf highlight that kickstarted this trip.

am i the only one that really like this hotel?
I LOVE the Waldorf and I've been to some 5 star hotels.

Service is very good for Israel standerds, you can see that they are really making an effort.

I love the decor and the atmoshphere and I'ts the only hotel I date in.

Plus you get free drinks ;-)

I just noticed a charge for $132.66 on my credit card from Waldorf Astoria.

It mentions something about 18% tax on the site, but how do they charge 18% when booking on points? Unless it was for something else, but I can't think of anything else. We didn't take ANYTHING from the hotel. I didn't even take the sample shampoos people always take, lol...

Is it normal to have this charge? Just wanted to know before calling them up.

Did you check out at the reception before leaving?
Because they would have given you an invoice if you owed anything.

I checked out and they said, "Thank you, you're fine." I assumed it was in regards to owing anything. Seems like I was wrong?

I would think that means you don't owe anything. Strange.

It's pending. I am going to wait until it's charged before calling. Although, I don't see why it will disappear. Usually $1.00 pends and disappears. Yup, strange. No invoice or anything.

Wanted to take the slippers.. very comfy. Didn't know if I could.  The robe had a note on it saying it needed to be purchased if I wanted to take it home. Nothing about the slippers though...  Live and I learn :)

Isnt the 18% tax only for Israelis? Meaning if I'm being charged for it when I book, will I get refunded?
