Hi,

Does anyone know if there are discounts on Shabbat meals or at the restaurants for Diamond members?

Thanks!

I'm Diamond and there were no discounts on any restaurant meals.  They did add free breakfast to our rooms booked on points and gave two free drink certs (worth about 60 shekels each) per stay (not per night as other have gotten in the past and I specifically asked whether I could get them per day).  We also got an upgrade from a regular superior room to a Junior Suite.

When we're you there?

I was there in January with Gold status and they gave us 2 drink vouchers per room per night (2 rooms)

In May, over Shavuot.  They did give us 2 per room but I really pushed them and they would only give two per stay, not per night. As an aside, I thought the normal $110 price for the Shabbos and Yontiv dinner was actually reasonable considering the quality of the food, unlimited wine, etc.

When we were there in January, we got 2 free drinks vouchers per room, per day.
When we came back in June, they only gave us 2 vouchers for the first day, and when we asked, they explained that they had changed their policy.

Not sure what you're asking.  Do you mean can cobble you together certificates for a couple nights from one name, more from another, and also book some
Points nights altogether for one stay?  If you have separate reservations, you can call or let them know when you check in and they can link them together so that you don't have worry about changing rooms.

my worry is more along the lines of them not letting me use the nights being that I am only the additional cost of these various reservations

ROFL, it's a nice hotel but that's just ridiculous.
And to rub it in, this what they got for Kauai: Koa Kea Hotel & Resort at Po'ipu Beach

If available they will most likely upgrade to deluxe.

With everything going on in the Old City and around it... Is it safe to go to the Waldorf now?

I don't think you can pinpoint that area. Stuff is happening all over. If you are worried, maybe push off the trip.
