There's no deal. It's Rabbunut. There are those that postulate somehow that it's better. Ask your LOR.

Official hashgocha is Rabanut, which has something to do with having Jewish employees there working on Shabbos.

In practice the mashgiach says that only mehadrin foods are used. I made a few phone calls to various people in the know and was told I could comfortably eat there, but obviously everyone should do their own research.

Avraham Fried was sitting at the Shabbos table next to us, so if I do go to hell because of it, at least I'll hear some good songs from my uncle ;)
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Rabbanut is not the issue
as much as who is the mashgiach

I know we stayed there because the hashgacha was so good as appose to the neighboring hotels.

We also were told by our rabbi we could eat at their restaurants as well.

I'm yet to hear anyone say something bad about their hashgacha

Can we just sticky everyone's Kashrus opinions in the wiki so we don't have to keep going over this?

I'm currently on the lookout to add more Israel based, Charedi, Rabbanim who know Kashrus to the list of people who approve of the WA but not Rabbunut to the list of those who say it's acceptable. If anyone knows of one and can post or PM me I would be indebted.

Then obviously you did not ask around enough.. Rabbis, Kuber, Weiner, Baum don't recommend it.

R Weiner actually said he doesn't know
-1000, He says he never went down to the kitchen himself, and thereby does not have first hand knowledge. But he did speak to a few people that he holds in very high regard within the kashrus world that have gone through the kitchen, and therefore he will NOT recommend it!

Is that what he told you personally, or you heard that from someone else?
