Whats different about it?
Main difference, nothing that involves on-the-spot melacha.

Friday night at the WAJ.

Shabbos lunch at the WAJ free breakfast, which of course is different then on weekdays.
For good food I'd definitely recommend the Plaza. 5 min walk and much better food. WAJ has been a disaster for shabbos meals.

I enjoyed Friday night at the WAJ, though it was 2.5 years ago.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I hated Friday night so badly that I made sure to eat enough at a kiddush shabbos morning. I came back to the hotel and just washed to be yotzei the seudah, gave a few licks here and there. Didn't regret the move.

To be more precise, Friday night is actually pretty good. Though shabbos morning Kiddush which you are referring as free breakfast is downright disgusting. Some Israeli salads and that's it. Not even herring. Then comes the Suede which is a bit better than the kiddush however very unimpressive. No eggs / liver, Chulent was chickpeas in water... The only thing edible was the fish.

I have to disagree.  We always loved the breakfasts.  Last time we were there for Pesach and it was STILL delicious. Granted, I live in Denver where we are restaurant deprived...lol...plus I don't really like "heimishe" foods like herring or cholent!  ;D

I thought the salads and all the hot foods were so good.  The year-round pastries are amazing and so we're the the hot foods, even the pesadik, non-gebrokts lasagnes, eggs, etc. and the potato au gratin were heavenly.

I also love that the WAJ dinner is a sit down menu, not buffet madness like other places.

i checked last week and leonardo plaza said 350 adult 250 child for normal shabbos meals. rabbanut mehadrin, and their mashgiach is a pretty cool dude. i found food there slightly better than waldorf friday night, but ambiance and wine at waldorf had value.

I have heard from a few knowledgeable Rabbanim, that the Rav in charge of the Kashrus in the Plaza is very reliable. (They have Rabbanut Mehadrin, and Aguda. Neither of which I would eat, as per the instruction of many Rabbanim)
