For good food I'd definitely recommend the Plaza. 5 min walk and much better food. WAJ has been a disaster for shabbos meals.
Just did Friday night at WAJ this past shabbos and it was awful. We reserved for 2 and showed up at 9pm after the kotel and they didn't have a table available. After about 20 min of waiting we found someone we know and ended up crashing their table just so we can eat. The service was extremely slow and they were out of the appetizer I wanted and the main course was cold. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Wow. So any good recommendations to go to for Friday night?

I was there a few weeks  (came late and it was a packed Shabbos) didn't wait anything. but service was 6.5/10

Did you order beforehand? Were you staying at the hotel?

Gotta get the facts first. If he has not ordered than it's his loss. If he did, then it's a different story and worthy of a complaint.

We were there too this past Friday night. Reserved in advance, showed up about 8:45 after the kosel and got a table right away. Service was slow but otherwise good, and the appetizers and soups were just ok, but the mains were very good and not cold. Overall enjoyed but it wasn't as good as reported by others in the past

Crazy how Friday night at the Waldorf ranges from 1 to 5 stars like this. Guess they need to work on consistency.

Kugel was very weak. Rest of the breakfast was decent, not nearly as good as the rest of the week

I was there last week for several days. I didn't recognize ONE staff member from my last visit 6 months ago. Seems liked there was a big change and a lot of trainees.

Cholent in WAJ is chick peas!

Why don't you try David's Citadel. Rabanut with Glatt meat/chicken as per the mashgiach.

Both meals are buffet. Tons of delicious food. Surprisingly, shabbos day had heimish food like real chulent and gala (among many many other choices)

They didn't stop being strict. The guys who manage these stuff are still there and I know they gave someone who used his accounts for a lot of random bookings a hard time last week.
