if all the other hotels were oversold then waldorf should have had no problem picking up the rest of the people looking to book...

No idea what that means.
The mashgiach says they only use mehadrin food year-round, but the hashgocha is rabanut year-round.

That's the Citadel. The Waldorf is the same kashrus standard year round.

No, but the Mashgichim certify that they use glatt meats.

what's mehadrin? I spent some time recently behind the scenes in Israeli kashrus and realized that the definition of mehadrin in EY is even broader than in the US (EU is even worse).
There should be a requirement for any hashgacha defining their protocols as mehadrin to disclose what the standards are.

The Mashgiach in the waldorf is very unreliable on what standard they use in the kitchen. He has been caught lying multiple times. It's hard to find a Rav in Israel that actually trusts him. The hashgacha is rabbanut so that's what you have to assume you are getting.

As for the citadel from what I hear he is reliable and will tell you exactly where and what he is serving that day.

He also has the last word as to what comes into the kitchen unlike at the waldorf....

Guess they didn't learn their lesson from last year when hotel was only around 70% full and every other hotel in yerushalyim was over booked

You know this for an absolute fact?  I was there and it sure seemed totally jam packed...

On another note, I know everyone wants actual Sukkot bookings but because of the way the Chagim fall out again with YK on a Wednesday, and it hard for many people to leave on Thursday to comfortably arrive on Friday before Shabbat (and for sure not on points flights), I know some of you may be arriving for YK as well and will also need to be there for Shabbat.

The WAJ does (or did when I booked) have standard rooms available for that week beforehand, even through Sunday Erev Sukkot.  If you try to use a cert and just book one night stays on Oct. 11 or 12 it will show as sold out because they have blocked one night stays but two night stays will show up for 95k points a night (a bummer for me as I wanted to do a discounted 5 night stay plus use a cert but I was happy to get them at all).  Also, on Yom Kippur itself, because there is obviously no breakfast served, they told me they do a large break the fast after havdallah, with dairy food equivalent to the breakfast you missed.

Yes, they do very nice break fast that is equivalent to the breakfast meal you are missing.
