I don't think anyone holds that you don't need supervision for milk
incorrect. Some hold that way.

Does anyone know what the story with the pool is, at this hotel? Wasn't is supposed to be open YEARS ago?
Welcome to the forums!
It is finally under construction and slated to open in November. They are also trying for Sukkos.

Thank you for such a nice welcome!
I was warned before I joined, that people will be rude to me, as they love to "haze" new members, so I am pleasantly surprised.

The question is how likely the pool news is actually correct. Do you have first hand knowledge?

Well, if anyone is rude, I have your back. Construction in Israel always goes overtime, so I doubt it will be open before Feb/Mar.

The hold up was that the developer Reichmann was uncomfortable with a mixed gender pool, and the management company Waldorf was uncomfortable with segregated pools. Reichmann sold the hotel to Guy Ohayoun, who has no problem with the mixed pool.

Pri chadash, reb moshe, chazon ish just to name a couple off the top of my head. although there are more.

Of course, they all only hold that way incertain circumstances such as where there is no cholov tamei around or if there is government oversight. (both would apply today in America)

Yes I have first hand knowledge of the goings on.

They have an official opening in November planned already and will do a grand opening showcasing of the pool/spa

They are doing a push to have a soft opening for sukkos but no guarantee on that.

The only government agency that DDF members trust (even if the agency says they don't even do that job).
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I think it's more like relying on R Moshe that they can be trusted than actually personally choosing to trust them because they seem trustworthy.

The umdena is very important since, according to the OU, the heter of R Moshe as written is no longer applicable with the current rules and enforcement mechanisms. R Belsky used the underlying reasoning of R Moshe to be matir even now.

I think it is this
https://oukosher.org/blog/consumer-kosher/rav-moshe-ztls-heter-of-cholov-stam-revisited/

Thank you very much for posting.

The last two paragraphs seem to contradict each other.

Quote
It should be noted that the above, newly-formulated position on cholov stam is actually the total reverse of Reb Moshe’s heter: Reb Moshe was mattir cholov stam based on dairy plants being inspected by the government, and government inspection of farms was a non-issue due to the concept of “bo l’yad Yisroel”. Now, in contradistinction, government inspection of farms plays the central role, and dairy plant inspection is no longer central for the heter. It is also important to note that the new position does not rely on “bo l’yad Yisroel” and may appeal to those who were not comfortable using this rationale in this case.

As evidenced by the above p’sak and research, the OU continues to pave the way in kashrus technical data and to service those in Klal Yisroel who wish to rely on Rav Moshe’s heter concerning cholov stam.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

IINM R' Moshe's heter and the Chazon Ish's heter are different. I'm still unclear as to why the general consensus was to go like R' Moshe's heter and not like the Chazon Ish when the Chazon Ish's tshuva makes it less of a heter and more of a non-issue as far as I understood it. Maybe it has more to do with paskening like the taz? The Chazon Ish seemed to say that he doesn't see why the taz says what he does. I think I have to go over the sugya again. Maybe @aygart can weigh in?

I think DDF's favorite agency is the DoT.

Government regulations are bad, except when they are agaisnt airlines, when we need more.

I like the DoT, but would I trust them with my wallet? Definitely not.
With my Yahadus? LOL
With things they say they don't even look for anymore? OK then.

do they treat you better as a diamond?

i booked last year with gold and got a nice upgrade (not a suite).
