prima kings? or get prepared food from somehwhere in the shuk

Thank you to the board, we ended up getting great food from the shuk, and asked the hotel to empty the minibar to use it as a fridge (they also offered to store things for us).

The hotel left us three different cheese products in jars of oil when we got back to the room, along with a bottle of wine.

This is by far the best use of Hilton points I've experienced since getting into the points game about 3 years ago. The Tel Aviv Hilton cash+points reward last week is now my second favorite.

I am in the waldorf as I type this. I am staying for one night and will let everyone know if the morning if the breakfast is free or not. I booked a free night cert and am Hilton Gold...

I will write a more detailed report when I leave.

Thanks Sruly.

Can you also please write in detail what they have for breakfast? I know the kashruth is Rabanut Yerushalayim. I don't eat that though. So can you tell me what they have that is closed/packaged?

Thanks!!

If you're relying on packaged food at a hotel breakfast, you'll be stuck with the milk and puddings.

So speak to the mashgiach and find out the hechsherim on the other foods.
Many non-cooked on location foods will be a higher level hechsher. You've just gotta find out what they are.

Okay here is the deal. I got the breakfast for free and it was incredible! There is nothing that is prepackaged. All the bread and yogurts were out and fresh. Besides for all of the usual buffet items, you are given a delicious menu to choose your choice of different style of eggs, fruit platters, pancakes, waffles, or French Toast. Wonderful service all around.

I definately think this was my best use of a free hotel night across any brand!

Everyone has a different barometer for "Good Service"

Precisely.

That's the problem with TA and SkyTrax and Freddie and every other subjective rating.

A person who ONLY stays in, say, Amans saying the "service is not good" at WA in response to someone's comment that it is (from a person who normally stays in, say, Holiday Inns) is of no real value, yet articulating ones "credentials," the list of hotels one has experienced, along with one's rating and ranking of each, is not feasible for every "I liked the service here" comment, so we get what we get.

I found the service to be good. That could be because I was only there for one day. I have stayed in about 20 hotels this year alone and feel confident. I should have added though, because this hotel is located in Israel, they do have Israel's running the show. They are not as good at masking emotions with a smile, as they are in America and some of the other countries I have been in.

Addendum!!!! I asked my wife to see if she thought the service was good and I got a negative review. I might have been Starstruck when i wrote it cuz she reminded me that the food did take a long time to come out. Bottom Line Folks = the wife is always right!

Overall, while the service is not perfect they do go above and beyond to try to please the guests. Our concierge gave us a very nice tour of the hotel and told us about the history of the site. It was a nice touch.
