I found the service to be good. That could be because I was only there for one day. I have stayed in about 20 hotels this year alone and feel confident. I should have added though, because this hotel is located in Israel, they do have Israel's running the show. They are not as good at masking emotions with a smile, as they are in America and some of the other countries I have been in.

Addendum!!!! I asked my wife to see if she thought the service was good and I got a negative review. I might have been Starstruck when i wrote it cuz she reminded me that the food did take a long time to come out. Bottom Line Folks = the wife is always right!

Though I cannot say that it compares to when I went to the Hyatt Huntington Beach and was upgraded to the Presidential Suite! I felt like Dan! The pics below only show half of the place! Not to mention the wraparound porch overlooking the Pacific!

Everyone has a different barometer for "Good Service"
The service is poor be every barometer, although it's probably worse at most Israeli hotels.

I'm curious to see how it measures up to the David Citadel & King David, which have very good service (by Israeli standards). The Mamila Hotel has awful service.

Precisely.

That's the problem with TA and SkyTrax and Freddie and every other subjective rating.

A person who ONLY stays in, say, Amans saying the "service is not good" at WA in response to someone's comment that it is (from a person who normally stays in, say, Holiday Inns) is of no real value, yet articulating ones "credentials," the list of hotels one has experienced, along with one's rating and ranking of each, is not feasible for every "I liked the service here" comment, so we get what we get.

I'm not comparing it to Aman/Four Seasons etc because it wouldn't be fair. Some people here prefer bad service so they can complain afterwards and get 1000 points

Incomparable, question is if they'll manage to improve.

The WA isn't comparable to 4 seasons anywhere else in the world AFAIK. It's more like a Grand Hyatt.

I got the room using cash and points! it was incredible. It had a dining room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms (none of these are shown in the pics!) It was called the Beach house suite, the nicest in the entire hotel. I have no idea how this happened, when i checked in they just said it was my lucky day (AKA Hashem!)

Can you book the two free nights you get from Citi Honors reserve card at Waldorf Jerusalem for friends or family or does the reservation have to have your name/certificate holder?
