A careful review of your account indicates that you've possibly purchased multiple Amazon.com Gift Cards on AmazonLocal on Mar 20. That deal permitted you to purchase a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card for $5, but the terms made it clear that there was a limit of one Amazon.com Gift Card per customer.

Through the normal course of business, the occasional problem is inevitable. However, you seem to have had an unusually high rate of problems in your account history. Do you think they will refund? how many did you order ? I think applying them to an account caused a red flag immediately

They sent me an email saying the were refunded.
I order like 30. Wasn't worth it at all
I had another 400 in gc's attached to my amazon account

i put them all in my account right away- and so far their all still there and i can access my account as well.. I hope they dont cause me problems with my account as i have almost 200$ of credit in there.. :-/

I think if he is going to get flagged, they will cancel his order so it shouldn't make a difference if he places it or not.
I just chated with someone, they said an account specialist will get back to me with 24 hours.
Amazon payment accnts are all closed too

any idea what this is referring to? have any of the other people who got their accounts closed had issues with amazon in the past?

I really hope not.
I had over $400 in GCs in my amazon accnt.
I think companies are really waking up to this kind of thing. I had charges reversed on multiple car services purchase from jet setter back in january

Ouch, I got the email too - and now can't login to my account!

I have a paid prime account with 4 'friends' sharing. I wonder if it will affect them...

I have definitely taken Amazon for a ride over the years with many MYHabit accounts (and tons of free stuff), multiple Amazon Payment accounts (lots of free miles), getting music CD's for free by applying $3 MP3 Credits to many accounts, getting refunded for defective items while being allowed to keep the item (I ordered a Cozy Coupe and it came missing the door - they refunded me

. I ordered a $40 food item and wanted to return it but they don't accept food product returns - they refunded me...)

It was fun while it lasted but I hope it's not all over. I would think that Amazon would look at the big picture and respect the hundreds of orders that I've made with them and allow my account to stay open.

In the event that they close my/our accounts, the question is how to go about getting a new incognito one?

In my case, I used multiple account names but only two different names on my CC's (although multiple CC #'s were used).
If I get a new cardholder with a totally fresh name, and make a new email account, the only thing left for them to stop is my address. I guess i could order to my next door neighbor..... Or do you think they track IP addresses?
I wonder if I could convince them that I live in a multiple family dwelling and MarkS is my neighbor.....

I did a bit of a google search,
it appears amazon will flag accounts for suspitious activity and close the accounts. Seems this is very common for people who buy many items and return them claiming they are defective. The emails they got are worded the same way

(Amazon or Amazon payments) i only got six GCs but i also have $977 in my AP acc.
