I booked a ticket for tom morning using avios ---nyc-minneapolis. after booking it i realized instead of chosing the 11am flight, i chose the 6am flight!

BA offices are closed in us and cant be cancelled/changed online

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You might have to take the 6am flight...

Could you cancel it and book again (this time for 11am) online?

when i called the far east phone # the morons said its not their place to touch american reservations...

Just miss the flight. They say they will reaccomadate you for free, if there's space. I am doing that intentionally tomorrow, definitely shouldn't be more than the $75 same day change

P.s. my reservation wasn't ticketed - (don't know why BA.com let it go through <24hrs before departure). The EC call center was closed, but a reg reservation CSR took my number and got an EC rep to call me back.

if you miss the flight on purpose they will put u on the next flight for $75? how does this work . please explain

I would either take the 6 am or cancel without refunding your miles and rebook for the 11 am then call and INSIST to speak to a supervisor to get a refund of the miles. This is better than a no show! Also try writing a letter an faxing it.

I missed a UA flight on sunday and they just put me on the next for free.

$75 is for same day changes onto an earlier flight. I'm just saying there's no reason the later flight won;t be valid for that $75. The CSR I spoke to said it would be free if I miss it. So I see it as a risk of having to pay $75.

I personally can't refund as the later flight doesn't have award seats

i thought thr 75 fee is only to standby for earlier flight

EF shows 20+, I don't see anything to worry about.

The only question I had was if I should check in my baggage before the early AM flight so when I 'miss' it I have to deal with the more lenient GA's or it's not worth the schlep... I figured a risk of $75 is not kedai to schlep out there for. As a MVP maybe I can get the $75 waived (couldn't find info on that)...

Same day confirmed, they don't do standby anymore unless there are no seat available. I don't see why later is different than earlier. You can even do it by phone if you want to be confirmed and don't mind paying (or have status)

My mother missed her Avios booked flight. They agent said there was nothing they could do becuase it was BA stock, but after speaking to a few AA agents (possibly some one the phone) she got ticketed on the next flight for free

My Dad missed a LGA-MSP a few weeks ago on AA, but he was with biz pax, and he probably won't know if he paid or not. I'll ask him tomorrow.

whats stoping you from first trying to get on the next flight for free?
