New Orleans Master Thread

Not linked in the big list, so Im assuming there is no thread.

Anything I should know about New Orleans? Going there tonight. Hope to stay at the Hyatt. I know its somewhat expensive at 15,000 GP points, however I got some unexpectedly and don't mind spending them.

AAA rate is $170, so that's a very poor usage of points.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Lol, still better off topping off for a better use than that.  Don't forget to add lost points if you would have paid for the room into a redeem or buy equation.

Actually one of the 13 eikarim is that even G-D cannot replace the Torah

Last award I had I got the promo points. What I'm really worried about is status nights, but I'll just hope for the best.
Probably better off working with this acct the other way around. Hint. Hint.

I didn't quote u for that post. The idea is if I have half the points needed and half the cash need, while I was planning on converting the half-cash into points, it might be smarter the other way around

Thank You

One day. Landing tonight leaving late tomorrow. Will probably be preoccupied most of the day, so just a quick walk around town kind of thing. Might end up staying there longer

The french quarter/Bourbon street is a must see! Just walk around the are, there are a lot of old beautiful buildings. It is very nicely lit up at night, but bourbon street can get a bit rowdy. There are two kosher restaurants. Casablanca is the fancier of the two. It used to be a not kosher place, but the owners mother got very ill a while back, and the owner made an oath to Hashem that if he healed her mother she would make the restaurant kosher. Which she did! They have a few things that they are famous for. The mango salad, combination platter, and corned hen if they still have it are all very good. The Lemon-nana ice drink is great! The rest of the food is typical Moroccan style so order what you like. Do not order the steak!!! stick to there food genre... Kosher Cajun aka Joel's is a grocery store/eatery. They have a bunch of good sandwiches nothing to amazing just all around good food. Unless they have bison burgers they are actually spectacular. If you want to try the local cuisine order a shrimp-poboy sandwich. If you are makpid on pas yisroel be sure to tell them first Other notable areas are Jackson square and river walk which has a casino and shopping mall. You can take a street car or ferry for fun. If you are into history the D-day museum is GREAT!
