So what's the story with Rabbi Greenberg Hechsher re Waffles on Maple?

Anyone know if the WWII museum lists any names of Holocaust victims or survivors. I am specifically looking for that in the NOLA area. TIA.

Shame about Waffles.
Was thinking of MSY for winter break, but food options seem pretty limited now.

Shame, true, but Casablanca in Meterie is quite good from what I hear, just not so close to the FQ.

I don't think they did, but I'm not 100% sure.
The museum is more of the US military point of the war vs a holocaust museum.
They did have some exhibits that were about the Holocaust but that is not the main focal point of this museum.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

I don't think so. It's not a holocaust museum, it's a WW2 museum from a military and US point of view. I thought it was fascinating and definitely recommend going.

I'd repeat what the others have said, but it's pointless. It's an excellent museum if you're interested in WWII, but it's definitely not a holocaust museum. They only have one room dedicated to that.

I'd go anyway, it's such a cool city to visit, especially if you're comfortable with the hechsher at Cafe Du Monde. TBH, waffles wasn't amazing but Casablanca was quite good.

I updated the wiki. Both Waffles locations are no longer under Louisina Kashrus Committe (Rabbi Nemes of Chabad of Metairie) - only Casablanca and Kosher Cajun are still LKC. Waffles on Maple and Cafe Dumonds (2 locations each) are under Rabbi Greenberg (of Beth Israel). There's also a restaurant called Rimon in the Tulane Hillel, under the Hillel Rabbi, Rabbi Schiller. I was told by someone at the OU yes to LKC, no to Rabbi Greenberg, and I haven't gotten a chance to ask about Rabbi Schiller (I'll try to report back).

So no Cafe Du Monde? I probably wouldn't either if I went back, I didn't realize the status of the kashrus at the time.

So it seems according to that report from the OU.

I wouldn't call it an official OU position - he davens in my shul and I ask him kashrus/hechsher questions all the time. IIRC he didn't have any firsthand knowledge - but when I told him the other rabbi is a Chovevei Torah grad he said you're probably better off not eating there.
