I believe i have seen that people have gotten it waived. Call up and be very charming.

Not sure which is better, but make sure you pay the taxes or any fees with the mileage holders CC. If you use a different CC, the passenger may get stranded at the gate.

You're asking the wrong question.

If you want award seats on LAN, you need to be asking about LAN as BA can only have what LAN gives them.

I don't know the answer re LAN...

if you want to know regarding AA flights, the answer is no, its not like UA. on UA u almost always find last minute availability but on AA flights its not so often. one thing is forsure that if you book one ror 2 months in advance itll show little availability many times but when u getc closer to the date like 3 weeks to 2 then ull usually see more. (no guarantee though)

Also, I've seen many times that more seats are being released on Sunday Mornings.

I just got my Chase BA card two months ago and I already have 55,000 miles. I am excited to start spending them on those awesome short haul values I've been hearing about.

But now I see that the availability is lousy. None of the days I want have any flights available. I checked several days before and after as well. Nothing.

Is this typical of Avios? Is it just my city maybe that has poor availability? The price is great. 9,000 miles for a flight that would cost me 200-400 dollars. But the availability is AWFUL.

Can someone explain?
