i am very surprised that anyone would take advice from ppl here whether a hechsher is ok or not. the star-k answers their phones all day and you can ask them about any product it takes 15 seconds. the chof-q according to the vaad in detroit is totally unreliable- and someone here posted its fine. dont trust other ppl if kashrus is important to you- make a phone call to a kashrus org or ur lor.
Just FYI, from my experience in contacting Hechsherim etc.. as you suggest, Star K (whom you mention, as if their some shining example) has been one of the
most unhelpful!
And trust me, I've called quite a few. By StarK, you have some female secretaries who thinks their Rabbonim, and that they have can pasken shailos for you
, and when you ask to be transferred to a Rabbi on staff, umm, I'd rather not go further lest it leads into L"H, but it seems that some Rabbi's there no as little (or as much
) as the secretaries.
