Ensuring Miles Credit for Flights
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:14:21 PM »
Checked in and waiting in lounge for a flight somewhere in the world....:)

I called Swiss yesterday and gave them my mileage number to add to the reservation....but the number doesn't appear on my paper ticket...just the letters FQTV (which stands for frequent traveler)

Do I need to have them add it at the gate? Am I good to go?

TIA

Is it possible for me to get miles from a friend or family member which flew but does not credit the miles ? Do the names on the ticket and on the ff account have to be the same ?

Are you on a fare that only gets partial and no credit? Not all fare classes earn you mileage on other airlines

From aa.com when trying to request credit for an El Al flight: To request mileage credit for this airline, please fax your ticket receipt and boarding pass(es) at 1-817-963-7882.

Is there any way to credit a recent El Al flight to AA if my father already threw out his boarding pass?
If yes, can he claim credit for my mother's flight too or only his?
What if the ticket was paid for by a third party, does that make any difference?

you only get miles for flights that you fly. You can't claim miles for a flight that someone else flew.

Doesn't make a difference who paid for the flight.

Yeah, that's what I thought, thanks! What about the first (and most important) question... any idea how to do it after the fact, without a boarding pass?
