Try filing a complaint; it will at least get you some sort of response.

Do you see my point though?
I will first try to speak to the bank. It was briefly mentioned but I didn't make a fuss because first I want to make sure that the check is safely cashed..

IMO the fees go hand-in-hand with the reimbursement of the check. If they agree that they're liable to refund for the lost check, they're responsible for all the side effects as well.

it's very possible it was worth the $2,200 just to be done with it, and not deal with any possible repercussions associated with denying you the $2,200.

Yes I see your point but I sometimes (actually most of the time) look at things differently. The branch should be your first step, then higher up the food chain with someone at the corporate level and finally I would file the complaint. Good luck and keep us posted.
