Don't always take what you read on blogs to be the gospel.

I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

I just got gold status from US Air. How will the merger affect that? Do we know?

AA will match it.
Better question is why you earned gold on US and not on A3 or UA?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I did someone a favor. He bestowed status on me in appreciation.

This is OT but now that I have *A gold through USair, how can I use status matching to leverage this? I have never had status before. How do I maximize this?

Which Frequent Flier program in the STAR ALLIANCE program would be best to accumulate miles/points, particularly if I want to maximize the transfer of SPG points? The points transfer to United from PSG is a lousy 2:1. Also don't want a program where the miles easily expire. Thanks in advance.

International or US travel? LH has a good credit card offer now, and can be used to book United saver tickets inside the US for less than United MileagePlus, and with no close in fees. Starwood transfers in at the standard 20K:25K rates.

You can use for INTL travel but will pay YQ.

Usually redeem points for flights to Israel from U.S. Do LH points expire?

My aa account was closed  because I sold my miles wondering if that would affect my USAir miles in long run.

Hard to see how they can shut that one.

I'm still conflicted about whether to post this is the funny/strange/bizarre/annoying pictures thread. Anyway, here goes...

What I learned today about the US Airways and American Airlines merger:

1. The new merger will bring about racial harmony.
2. Post-merger, even lower level employees will be required to have modeling experience. (Those are some awfully photogenic dudes to be working out on the tarmac. Imagine what the gate agents will look like?)
3. A caste system will be put in place whereby seniority and standing will be indicated by the color of your reflective vest. Orange vest guys will be given hats without crowns, yellow vest guys will be allowed to have mustaches.
4. Oil slicks on the tarmac will be tended to by none other than the Brawny paper towel guy!

Ok, so not really a merger question but didnt know where else to post.... We got home this morning from an awesome 10 days in Israel which we flew usair on the cheap summer tickets. When we got through customs and through passport control with our luggage usairways officials stopped us and took our luggage tags and said they are going to put notes next to our name so that they will always know we abused the hidden city ticketing. What does that mean and in the future am we no longer ale to partake in these deals? They were also profiling. All the younger families they stopped while even people who were in their 50's with kids and had bought their tickets in the summer they didn't bother stopping. They were only stopping young frum families to take their tags off our luggage. What does this mean?? Or will it also mean nothing if usair doesn't continue this flight to Israel anyway after the merger and that's the only time we fly usair...... Anyone?? Thanks!
