Once they merge, which award chart would they use? If they use AA then I would book before the merge because it's cheaper.
Also, anyone know how much the fuel surcharges on AA from NYC-TLV?

AA has been prompting me, whenever I log on at AA.com, to submit my USair info for the future merge. Any reason I should wait before doing so?

For the odd chance they will eventually offer 500 miles or so to merge them

Notice the words "odd chance"
why in the world should they?
Never said they "should"
Historically Delta & Northwest did offer miles when they merged

I was answering his question as to whether there is any reason to wait
I answered for the "odd chance" they do offer miles...which does answer his question IMHO.
American has said they aren't offering anything..but then again that means very little in my book. (for the record, 500 miles also means very little and yes I have linked my account)

Had it. Then noticed that the DOB was off on AA by 1 day. Been trying to correct it ever since. They are terrible responding to emails.

Where does AA have DOB in account information?

Update: If you click edit by the name you can put in DOB and gender. Those areas were blank on AA so when I input the information was able to match accounts.

What's the consensus? If I have multiple US accounts, better to merge them now or later?

Now. Once they become AA accounts, it can raise red flags to AA when you start merging accounts.
