I imagine you've seen the articles floating around that the merger for points will take place this coming Saturday. Should we take bets on potential glitches that might happen during the merger? Or is it worthless because they'll be fixed by the time Shabbos is over?
Why do you think they've scheduled it for Saturday?...  ;)

Finally.

Since mentally, all US Air miles earned recently are AA miles, I keep looking at AA to check if my Barclay miles hit.

As of now you still only get free bag, if your flight is on US metal.

I'm thinking of applying for the US Airways Premier World Mastercard (50,000 miles) and also applying for the American Airlines Platinum Card (50,000 miles). Does anyone know if I'll get the bonus for both cards because of the merger?

Anyone manage to use the merger as a way to combine accounts between spouses? Like DW's usairways account with my aa account?

A 30k ticket to Europe during off peak, + a 20k ticket in US or to Caribbean off peak.

Flying LHR-LAX on AA using a USAir FFN number linked to my CC (priority access, priority boarding). Would those benefits apply to an American operated flight?

So, I linked my main US Airways account to my AA account last week. That seemed to have worked.
A few days BEFORE that, I also attempted to MERGE an extra US Airways account into my main one. The merge doesn't seem to have gone through however. (When I filled out the form, I just got some lame message about "your request to merge has been received, yada, yada.")

What do I do now? Contact US Airways? Or just wait until they turn that account into a second AA account?
