What's the best way to redeem TY Points now that there's no amazon GCs?

I was able to get $100 gap gift cards for 10,000 points each. Used them at the 35% off sale Monday.

Not for everyone but 1cpp for TYP is acceptable compared to the alternatives.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

@  80% or 100% of your points?

It's 100% for gift cards, 80% when you "shop with points" directly with amazon

Can anyone comment on the following:

For my Citi Forward card, it says:
ThankYou Points expire five years from the end of the month in which they are earned unless ThankYou Network is terminated.

Does mean in year 6, my TYPs from year 1 will expire month to month?

I see that Dan has an old post, http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/19537, that says ThankYou Points don't expire if you keep using them, but the above seems otherwise?

Or does this mean that if I earn points in year 5, my points as a whole won't expire til year 10?

Thanks

I think you need to go on TY's website and read the updated points rules. They have changed a couple of times since Dan's original post.

The TY website says that I should check with my sponsoring account.  Unfortunately, I don't have easy access to the cardmember agreement for any of my TY related Citi accounts.

The best I could do was the above quote which I found on an old Citi Forward app.

I've actually already sent an SM, but good call (no pun intended), Ez.  I had gotten used to getting so many great answers here that that option totally slipped my mind. =)

I'll see what the SM brings, first.

Got a FB offer from Citi for 1,000 free TY points for linking your amazon account to Citi, doesn't seem targeted.

To earn 1000 bonus points, enter TYAMCAZON2 at thankyou.com/bonusreg and follow the 3 steps in the Terms and Conditions!

Terms and Conditions: To qualify for this offer, you must be a ThankYou® Member with an eligible Citi credit card and link your ThankYou and Amazon.com accounts. Only ThankYou Members who have not yet linked to Amazon.com qualify.Follow these 3 STEPS to claim: 1) Log onto thankyou.com/bonusreg (or click on “Shop Now”) where you will be prompted to log into your ThankYou Member Account. 2) Enter bonus registration code TYAMCAZON2 and press submit. 3) On the confirmation page press continue & link your accounts. Offer expires at 11:59 PM ET on 6/30/2013 or until the first 20,000 members have linked—whichever comes first.Bonus points will be posted by July 10,2013.The points you receive as part of this offer may be reported to the IRS as miscellaneous income on Form 1099-MISC, as required by applicable law.Customer is responsible for any taxes. Amazon.com is not a sponsor of this promotion.

It didn't work for me (dunno why), but it should hopefully work for others.

I never bothered to link it before because redemption on Amazon is 0.8, as opposed to the 1.3 I can get on travel by having Premier.

Tried that link but getting a "server error". Maybe I'm late to the party.

I called yesterday to downgrade my premier to preferred and get the remaining AF back. They told me that they gave to wait 51 days before downgrading due to some new credit card law. Anybody hear of this? I was able to redeem 5k for $50 amazon gift card though.

Unless its recent its not standard.
I called to cancel a few times. Nothing was offered.
As soon as I finish this trip that I'm using my companion cert for, I will be downgrading
