FT mods also lock threads and delete posts if they're critical of an airline. And suspensions and bans are very common.
Do folks want heavy-handed moderation like that here too?

definitely not, but the benefit is that one can request from the mod to kindly close his thread, in a case where that they agree that should be done.

When people act stupid, yes. Of course, generally I appreciate the gentle moderation we have here on DDF, but if people are abusing your generosity of spirit, lets ban 'em and move on.

The reason I am asking is because every month I have a large amount of TYP's I cash in. I would take the chance and hold on to them if I knew something was about to happen.
