I think the wa y they work is you fax them the ticket and any excuse you may have and they'll tell you if they'll take it.

As has been mentioned, these types of places will charge you half of what the fine would be if they are successful. If not, you don't pay a dime.

The above opportunity would be the downside for "asking nicely."

Dont you need evidence to why you aren't guilty ? I'm not sure if you can just ask nicely and the ticket will be dismissed, its not like your dealing with a credit card company , where you just ask nicely and you get what you want.

So far I never used any of them, I just handled the tickets on my own. I"m about to use one now though, so we'll find out how they do.
