With all the recent articles about hacking, credit card breaches etc does anyone think its worth it to sign up for credit card monitoring. Maybe I am just paranoid?

Sure why not?
Credit Karma is free and it monitors TU, and i think Credit Sesame monitors Experian. I personally love Citi Identity Monitor because when i apply for cards it alerts me and i see which bureau was pulled

I cancelled my subscription, and when i tried to apply with this link they said they couldn't verify my identity online and they'll send something in the mail? Has anyone ever had this?

@ 5 bucks a month I think it's very good. You get
Credit scores (Fako, i know but somewhat accurate for a ballpark number)
Credit report
List of every credit pull/the Month pulled and which CB
Alerts of any activity which you are immediately notified of via email (which according to your OP is exactly what you want)

I'd say it's a great deal (But I don't know if i'm knowledgeable enough, so wait for the pros to chime in!)

Personally, I don't use it, even at $4.95/mo. I use a combination of Credit Sesame (Ex) + Credit Karma (TU), and before "churns," I just do the $1 Identity Monitor trial which gives me access to all three. and then remember to cancel.

Interesting, this $1 trial thing can be "churned"?
For the OP who is worried about security breaches, hacking etc (not really for churning) and the like, would you recommend it?
