Has anyone done PCH in winter? LA to SF, Feb 17-18, 2 concerns, gets dark 6sh so not much to see after, rain and mudslides.

If Shirah winery in santa maria are around sunday, i'd do LA - santa maria, monday to Monterrey and SF

Trader Joe's has kosher meat and chicken at most stores in CA, as well as a large kosher selection (not section, just general food, but no grape juice).

I don't know if this is still relevant, but Pars Kosher Market is San Jose has everything you need and a deli with some fresh food and to go stuff.
PM me if you need more info

My wife and I are planning a SFO > Yosemite > LA trip in January (from Israel).

After we arrive early Sunday AM in SFO, we need to stop in Palo Alto to pick up some things, then we'll drive to Yosemite for 3 nights. Tentatively, planning to stay at the Tenaya in Fish Camp.

We need to be in LA for Shabbos, and were thinking of driving some of the PCH to get there. We have from Wednesday AM until Friday.

We were going to stay here https://www.ticklepinkinn.com/ in Carmel for Wed and Thu, but the drive to LA on a short Friday seems too much to really enjoy anything.

Any suggestions where to spend the few nights, and which route to drive? Interested in nature, trees, waterfalls, etc. Not Hearst Castle. We are considering the Jelly Belly factory, too :). We don't have Hyatt points, and we're looking for nice places to stay.

Also, we've been to Tierra before..no need to go back there.

Thanks!

I mean it's doable but go from Yosemite straight to PCH that's 3.5 hours.

What points do you have?

I have CUR points, plus 60K Capitol One.

I don't need to use points on this one; just looking for nice places to stay and what to see.

Yosemite to PCH would be much out of the way.
Maybe a stop in sequoia makes more sense

at what point do you think one has seen enough of scenic drive and can get off the PCH and get back to the 101 to save time to LA area

Between Monterrey and Santa Barbara there aren't really any places to conveniently transfer between the 1 and the 101. Just get on the 101 once you've gotten to Santa Barbara and take it back to LA. The nicest parts of PCH are between Monterrey and Santa Barbara anyway.
