Thanks but i was actually looking for something further south and west- on or just off the coast area. Also, anybody know of any kosher food along the way or I should just bring from SF/OAKLAND?

The Jelly Belly factory is pretty cool.
Besides for the free tour, they also have a paid (pretty expensive) tour where you actually go down on the factory floor. I thought that was pretty awesome.

Lake Berryessa is a great place for boating, there's a boat rental place where you can rent all kinds of boats and jet-skis about 45 minutes from the Jelly Belly factory.

I said that.
I didn't mean it literally that you can't find anything at all to see or do, but when people talking about the beauty etc. of the  PCH, they're basically talking about the stretch from Carmel till about San Simeon or Cambria.
I once did the drive up the coast from LA to San Luis Obispo (I was on my way up north) and it was basically just  a big waste of time...

SFO>LAX Help me plan roadtrip
« Reply #51 on: August 30, 2012, 03:17:36 PM »
Planing a trip, will be leaving SFO either midnight (does it shut down?) or around 4 am (if I can work at the lounge).

Looking for the most relaxing scenic route, including places to stop by on the way. Must arrive in LA around 2pm.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Most scenic route is the coastal route, but don't know how scenic it is at night.

Lol, thanks. Can you elaborate on the coastal route? And it's scenic from the beginning? I.e. I should wait until the morning to leave SFO?

I'm sorry I don't remember - I would do all driving on the pch and only during the day, I don't know how fast the highway goes at night it does have some difficult turns etc and you don't want to miss the good parts.
