Premier Executive Mileage Upgrade

I made an award ticket for my son out of my Premier Executive account in Economy, and 72 hours before, he was upgraded to First Class, even though I'm not flying with him. Just curious, is this a mistake, or do all passengers booked out of my account with mileage get the same benefits (including upgrades) as me?? I know that UA gives some bennies (like priority baggage, Economy Plus, etc....) for mileage tickets, but this is pretty cool if it really sticks!

No.
It was a CO bug that has made its way over to UA now.

I've experienced this multiple times with UA before merger.

FWIU it's a Shares bug, which UA only migrated to in March.
