missed flight on award ticket

due to certain circumstances I missed my flight that I booked 2 days back on ua with points is there anyway I could cancel the flight? I actually called united 2 hours b4 the flight was supposed to take and waited for 42min on the phone until I gave up

Call them and tell them you couldn't get through.

btw I checked the status of my flight 3 hours b4 scheduled departure and it came up as my flight is not operating today then later it came up as boarding

with co you got the miles refunded on a no show by a award booking, but it might take them a few days until they see you as no-show

thanks finally got through to them paid 150 to get my miles back I wonder if u get the tax and last min award fee back?

Tax should come back automatically, last minute fees are probably non-refundable.

i tried once with an excuse of a death in the family thats why im canceling the ticket and the agent after saying sorry for your loss etc told me i should fax a copy of the death certificate and they will waive the fee i told them i will pay lol

i know someone who missed a delta award flight today, the bags were checked in, he just came too late to the gate. All future flights are overbooked till Fri.
Can he get his miles back? also can he still use the return trip?
