Just spoke to a dealer, SIM is free, first month is free no need to commit to use afterwards. SIM is not valid for BB, and phone calls are prohibitive (afaik abt $0.25/m) as it is intended for data only.

nothing interesting, I had a good plan from pelephone but when I landed my line was suspended because they decided I owe them 2500 shekel. I had to get service fast, so this fellow was a big mistake.
70 shekel a month for internet + bb service, 25 for subscription, 100 shekel one time fee for the SIM card. The first two are general cellcom plans which u will get from anyone, I think he gave me some kind of a discount on the SIM.

Interesting, I'm currently in the exact opposite situation. I just landed in Israel yesterday to find my Cellcom service suspended because they claim I owe them close to 2,000 NIS, so I'm looking to jump ship to Orange or Pelephone. Any recommendations? I need voice (chayalim plan would be awesome) and unlimited (or nearly unlimited) data...

Pelephone data is by far the best.
There's 1GB for 60 or unlimited for 80
I got them to make it half price for me.
I actually got a phone call from pelephones lawyer (they don't have mt correct name on file), so I told her some of the charges are legit and I will review it  when I have a chance... She wasn't happy.

Ported no problem, only problem is that they now know my number and are calling me...

I did it with above agent, he didn't need any documents or anything, just asked me what # I want to port and it was done...

Do you guys live there to get these plans? How does it compare to the Rami Levi phone service that was in the group a few months ago?
