Stopping over in PVG for just over 24 hours, 7:25pm-8:10pm.

Any recommendations on what to do/where to stay?

Seems like Ive got it down to between Le Royal Méridien Shanghai (SPG) and the Andaz (Hyatt).

Plat with SPG and Diamond with Hyatt and using a confirmed suite upgrade. Price is the same, which would you take?

Really wanted to stay at the PH but its more then twice the price so not worth it IMO.

idk much about the hotels but the Le Royal Meridial is located next to "the bund" - if that makes any diff. really nice scenery.

these are pics i took from tonight (a few hours ago) - one at day and one at night

For lack of better place to post, anyone know which Chabad or other shul is closest to the bund in Shanghai?

The bund, Nanjing road (is that what it's called?), Xintanedi (French concession). You take the fastest train in the world (maglev) to the city center and cabs from there.

Along the way you wonder if theres a very good reason Siemens built the first model of their train in China and not in Germany.

Thank you! Will I be able to figure out how to get to these places once there or should I figure it out now? (Does your cousin want to take me around? ;) )

You should print out the attachment from last post. Point to the taxi driver to "the bund", Nanjing road is right next to the bund.

You could take the Maglev to town, and then take a taxi to the bund.

it prob would be quicker to take a taxi from airport. - but maglev is only 7 min ride so maybe

check out yuyuan gardens and the marketplace- near the bund. really cool

Taxi is usually faster, but it’s an experience to take a train going 430km/h
