True. I've been considering doing this for the 1.25 and companion pass since Avios are my most frequently used currency. But the CP isn't worth so much with BA's YQ.

What you would be doing your spending on and what you would want the points for make a big difference. SPG are the most valuable points and they do offer a transfer bonus for a lot of airlines. You should also be aware of the Freedom 5x categories each quarter. You can get a nice little bonus just from that.

IP/IB for anything you can route through office supply store, + all ink categories.
AMEX Business Gold for Airfare.
Freedom for rotating categories.
Freedom + Exclusives for small purchases.
SPG for any general spend not receiving multiple points per dollar.

I opened a new BA card using Dan's CC link which doesn't specifically state AF waived first year .  I was approved for the card and just noticed the link in the wiki which has the fee waived.  Would chase know if applied via that link or not?

it's probably waived if not u shouldn't have a problem getting it back via sm
