It's not so simple. There have been reports of the same Executive Club number getting the bonus twice. It seems like there's some sort of combination of time + new number.

they have not had anything better in over a year,
in the past there has been better offers such as 100k straight up or 50k+50k on anniversary (without 20k spend)

i would say go for it.

Ok.

Is there any reason to keep this card open after the signup bonus?

Why are you rushing to close the card? Why not wait until you apply for new cards and use it as leverage?

I previously got denied for a United Explorer card. I want to apply for it now. Will it help to offer to close it if I dont get approved?

Yes, very possible. Offer to shift cl or close this one for that one.

If they are there now, they shouldn't go anywhere.

Looking into booking AA with Avios direct US to Europe. Found direct for 40K but it costs over $300 because
"carrier imposed charge    USD232.00" Is there any way around that? Seems at least half as annoying as a fuel charge.

if you think there is a possibility of you spending 10k or 20k on it in the next year. (assuming you have that offer)
